@RoxanneDarling, Lexi (our awesome dog) and I were happy to get back to Lanikai Beach this morning for a recharging swim and a few minutes on the beach before a downpour swept across the beach. For this photo I placed my iPhone on one of the rocks and used the GorillaPod app's self-timer. Then I ran the photo through TiltShiftGen for the TiltShift effect.

@roxannedarling, Lexi, and I are currently homeless. Ok.... Not really. We've been kicked out of our house while our Realtor hosts a Broker's Open so all the Kailua Realtor can preview our home. Our house went on the market yesterday, http://rsr.me/halehiwahiwa. So we decided what better place to kill a few hours than at one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet, Kailua Beach.

Almost forgot my 365 today. My cousin and his wife, from Iowa, were here and I spent the entire day with them. It was a great day. And many thanks to our friend, Eric, for taking us out in his sailing outrigger canoe!

"Lucky we live Hawaii" is an island saying that, like so many island words and phrases, can have many meanings depending on the context of the conversation and people involved in the conversation...

Today is January 25, 2011, and the photo above (straight from my iPhone, no filters) was just one of dozens of vistas on my drive to Costco today, that made me say out loud, literally, to myself in the car, "lucky we live Hawaii."

This little guy was perched on a sandy knoll at the far end of Lanikai beach this morning. Happy Aloha Monday from Winter in Hawaii!
